The Cornelius Elementary PTO is committed to bringing all its fundraisers “in house” this school year, in an effort to keep 100% of the funds raised. The 4th Annual Wylie's Wicked Wakefest was a great success despite the weather forecast and rather cool temperatures. This event is typically full of costumed riders, but again due to the weather the riders still showed up, but not quite as many costumes as in years past. Thanks to Charlotte Ski Boats, the official MasterCraft dealer of Charlotte for presenting this great annual event! Photos by Patrick Nicholson.

The crowds came out to celebrate The Corkscrew's 10th Anniversary party. For those of us that have been here since before Birkdale, 10 years is definitely something to celebrate for one of the locals favorite wine bars. There were Tons of FREE Giveaways, Free T-Shirts, Free Etched Logo Wine Glasses, Free hors d'oeuvres, and CBS Radio was even onsite with a LIVE Broadcast. To top it all off, Brother Gravity played LIVE and kept the festive crowd dancing and relaxing while sipping their favorite wines (and beer).
Does this face look familiar? Maybe you remember Jon as the fifth season winner on NBC's "LastComic Standing" or have seen him on Comedy Central's "PremiumBlend" or the half-hour special "Comedy Central Presents: Jon Reep". If it’s not from his stand-up performances, then you probably recognize Jon from Dodge's popular ad campaign, "Hemi Guy", where Joni s known to millions as the redheaded hillbilly famous for leaning out of his rusty beater and uttering, "That thing gotta Hemi?" You also know Jon as the redneck farmer from “Harold and Kumar: Escape Guantanamo Bay” and television host of “Are you Faster than a Redneck” on the Speed Channel. Yes - we've been to a lot of comedy shows and Jon (being from Hickory, NC) knows Southern Culture and he was HILARIOUS.

Aquesta pulled out all the stops and had an incredible parking lot party packed with local vendors and family friendly activities. The new branch is located in the Northcross Shopping center in front of Marshall's, Staples, and Petco. Aquesta is your community bank and you can definitely FEEL the personal difference between Aquesta and the other banks when they put on community events like this. Aquesta has all the technologies of the "big" banks along with customer service that truly feels like your next door neighbor - what more could you ask for? Photos by Nate.

It appears we got our "wires crossed" here at LKNfun - Early Ray was on the Calendar, but DJ C-Nile turned out to be the entertainment for the night. Rudder had a good turnout, but nothing like we're used to seeing for a typical Early Ray Performance at the Rudder. DONT FORGET next Saturday Sept 27th is BLUE MONDAY - and you can be sure the Rudder will be packed with a FUN crowd! Photos by Patrick Nicholson.

Arnie Watkins placed 1st (first picture), Stephen Pierce placed 2nd (second picture), and Austin Hair placed 3rd (third picture), pictures 4 and 5 are just HUGE air pictures that we've only seen from behind a Super Air Nautique G23... those aren't "double up" flights. We made it out to the Daveste' Vineyards weekly Wednesday Wine and Live music event for the first time ever... and we can say with confidence that it won't be the last. If you're looking for something extraordinary to do on Thursday nights - Daveste' Vineyards is the answer. The grounds and setting of the vineyard set the stage for relaxation and the low level music playing in the background is perfect for conversing with current friends and meeting new friends with like interests. Take a look at this album, and make plans to attend one of their events - you won't be disappointed! Photos by Nate.
Photos from Cornelius Elementary PTO'S 1st Annual Investing In Excellence Silent Auction/Fundraiser! More specifics on how much was raised at this great event coming soon. It sounded like it may have been one of the most profitable fundraisers that Cornelius Elementary has held. One thing is for sure - the parents had at least a brief reprieve from the kids in almost a "date night" format and of all the fundraisers we've been to over the years this was clearly a passionate event for the parents as many of the parents made incredible donations - they even auctioned off 2 parking spaces! One parking spot went for $500, and the other went for $700!... Thanks to the Cornelius PTO for organizing such a great event for a great cause. Photos by Patrick Nicholson.
Photos from D9 Brewing Company's Grand Opening of their NEW 5,000 Sq. Ft. brewery. Since D9 initially started pouring their Craft beers, locals have been raving about D9's beers! It didn't take long for them to outgrow their former location and now they are all set up with plenty of tables inside along with bar games and more. A great crowd came out to support this great new addition to the Lake Norman scene. Photos by Patrick Nicholson.
