The Galway Hooker was once again THE place to be. We have long said that St. Patricks Day is the biggest party day at the lake and 2015 was no exception. While we thought the huge crowds over the weekend might have slowed the Tuesday night festivities... we were wrong! Special Thanks to Chris Boukedes for putting on these incredible street festivals - no long lines, all happy revelers! Enjoy - and stay tuned to LKNfun for what's happening at Lake Norman - we cover: Huntersville, Cornelius, Mooresville and Davidson. Let your favorite watering holes know they need to join the LKNfun program. The only Website with year over year growth for over a decade.

The Galway Hooker packed the streets once again for the largest Annual St. Patricks Day festival at Lake Norman. If you weren't able to celebrate this past Saturday - join us this Tuesday for what is sure to be a full day of FREE fun and festivities - just might be a good day to get the Irish Flu. Jacks was the Galway overflow destination as the crowds at Galway could be a bit much for many to handle - so Jacks was the perfect place to recharge with some food while still "pre" celebrating St. Patricks Day. IRISH I could Pawty Like a Boston Terrier Pawty! This was Lucky Dog's 3rd annual St. Patricks day Boston Terrier Rescue of the Carolina's charity event. So far in 2015 - Lucky Dog has raised over $11,500 for local charities! If you have a dog - Lucky Dog Bark and Brew is a MUST visit. Have no fear - even if your dog is rambunctious around other dogs - they quickly figure out how to play well with others at Lucky Dog. We (Nate & Carrie) have a little Boston Terrier that LOVES Lucky Dog and we take her at least 2X/month to play and Overnight Board her there when we go out of town. Ziggie (our Boston) loves it there and when we get home from a trip, she's excited, but not bursting with energy as Lucky Dog's boarding program has more play time than any of the other facilities we've found. Love Lucky Dog Bark & Brew!
Pauly Shore is ingrained in the brains of many of us in our 30s and early 40's and Pauly knows his core audience. While he shys away from some of the "iconic" periods of his past, he focuses on material that is relevant to those of us who grew up watching him on MTV. Pauly loves being on the road, and doesn't stick to a standard routine - it feels pretty off the cuff and dialed in for each audience. Pauly doesn't resort to "overly crude" to get a laugh - sure, it's a R rated show, but after going to many celebrity shows Pauly does a good job of riding the fine line of risqué and hilariousness. Thanks Pauly for a great show and continuing to put smiles on the faces of middle America.
The weather has been absolutely CRAZY around here, so when the sun decided to poke it's head out again for the first time since early February the crowds came to their favorite outdoor patio and Tiki bar overlooking Lake Norman. Dave and Woody started at 4pm and we missed most of the crowd that came for them. Don't worry - spring is just around the corner and we'll be at the Rudder documenting the FUN as always.
Eric and Joy - friends of the LKNfun Bunch are tying the knot and friends came together at the Brickhouse Tavern to celebrate their engagement. Congrats Eric and Joy! We're excited for you and all that life has in store.

Some good friends were getting together at Eez for Dinner and Pre-Party before heading over to the Birkdale Theater to watch 50 Shades of Grey. While we were there we snagged some pics of other pretty women at Eez (of course) and some great overview shots of one of the best Sushi and Asian Restaurants/Bars at the Lake. If you've never been to Eez in Birkdale, you're missing some of the best Asian entrees (bulgogi beef tacos, pad thai, and seared Asian Mahi are some of our favs) and a huge list of amazing HUGE sushi rolls.
The Rusty Rudder with packed to the max as locals came to take advantage of one of the most beautiful February days we've had in YEARS! (70 Degree and Sunny!) Patrons came by boat and by land to chill on the outdoor patio with one of the best views of the Lake that any waterfront restaurant and bar has to offer! Great seeing all our boating friends mid-winter! We LOVE CORNELIUS and LAKE NORMAN - and obviously the people who came out to enjoy. Stay tuned to LKNfun - obviously the Tiki isn't usually open in February, stay tuned to LKNfun for the most accurate and up to date options around the Lake.
Amanda through a Surprise 40th Bday party for Jeff at Jacks... and it's "Party Like Marty's" Birthday weekend celebration as well, so the lake crew was out in full force having a great time at Jacks jamming to DJ Bob's perfect selection of tunes that kept everyone dancing. Happy Birthday Jeff and Marty!

The Vinyl Pi and Cork & Cask are affiliates so if you like one - you're sure to like both locations - each offering their own distinct ambiance and themes. Vinyl Pi is more a "NODA" type venue here at the lake with Indy Artists playing most Friday and Saturday nights... Not to mention the best pizza around. The music is always chill and the crowd is friendly. Vinyl Pi is off the beaten path - but still very convenient location - you just might not see it on your typical errand runs around town. Click the Map for location - and watch the LKNfun calendar for our Daily Specials and Live Entertainment.
Bullies to the Rescue hosted their world famous Bulldog Beauty Pageant! 10% of Lucky Dog sales during this event was donated back to the Bullies 2 The Rescue group. If you have a rambunctious dog - don't worry - most dogs are. Lucky Dog is a "territory free" zone and dogs inherently "get it" - We take our Dog (Ziggie - a little Boston Terrier) along with many of our neighbors about every other Friday night - It's a great way to get out of the house and let your best friend get out of the house too - You think you NEED out of the house - imagine being a Dog! We also board Ziggie at Lucky Dog, both for doggie day care, and overnight boarding when we travel.
Hotshots Mooresville is quickly becoming the go-to spot for a night of fun and great food. You've seen the billboard on I-77, now check out the pictures! Hotshots has more than your typical sports bar, offering 4 pool tables, 6 Dart Boards, Punch Out, and even Skee Ball! Harvey's kid and family friendly restaurant and sports bar is often forgotten as a quick, comfortable, and affordable restaurant in Cornelius. We've been eating there regularly as their food is several notches above your average kid friendly sports bar. If you like a hint of "heat" - you've got to try Harvey's Cornelius. We suggest their spinach artichoke dip with just a touch of heat, or their Southern Burger with Fried Green Tomato and Pimento cheese - YUM! Our family of 4 consistently dines for about $40 with an appetizer! Welcome Harvey's into the LKNfun Flock, and show your support and swing by for Lunch or Dinner - their menu is SURE to please... and it's one of our Kid's new favorite locations.
